Technical information about the app’s accessibility

This app is partially compliant with the law on accessibility of digital public services due to the shortcomings described below.

Content that is not accessible

Non-compliance with legal requirements:

  • Some texts do not support text enlargement in the iOS version of the app.
  • Some images may lack alternative text.
  • In a few places, the contrast between text and background or in components and graphics is too low.
  • Complex interaction for selecting vehicle icon and vehicle color (swiping).
  • No multilingual support for information entered by parking lot owners.

We are continuously working to improve the app’s accessibility and welcome feedback on what should be prioritized via email to kundtjanst@parkster.se.

Undue burden

Parkster invokes exceptions for undue burden in accordance with Section 12 of the law on accessibility of digital public services for the following navigation features.

The target audience for the parking app is individuals with sufficient functional ability to drive a car. The following types of navigation are currently not available in the app and are considered unduly burdensome to implement, as they are unlikely to provide significant benefit to the app’s target audience:

  • Ability to navigate using assistive tools such as external keyboard or screen reader.
  • Ability to navigate in landscape screen orientation.

Content not covered by the law

The content described here is not fully accessible but is exempt under Section 9 of the law on accessibility of digital public services:

  • The map showing parking spaces.
  • Third-party content for payment methods.

How we tested the app

The app has been externally reviewed by Ambition Group.
The most recent assessment was done in November 2024.
The review method was a combination of manual testing and testing using an external keyboard and screen reader on a mobile phone.

We regularly review accessibility using both automated tools and manual testing. This is done by us.
