Technical information about the app’s accessibility
This app is partially compliant with the requirements of BITV 2.0, due to the shortcomings described below.
Content that is not accessible
Non-compliance with legal requirements:
-
Some text elements in the iOS version do not support dynamic text enlargement.
-
Some images may lack alternative (alt) text.
-
In some parts of the app, the contrast between text and background, or within components and graphics, is too low.
-
The interaction required to select a vehicle icon and color (via swiping) is complex and may not be accessible to all users.
-
No multilingual support is available for user-entered content (e.g., information from parking space owners).
We are continually working to improve the accessibility of the app and welcome suggestions on what should be prioritized. Please contact us at kundendienst@parkster.com.
Undue burden
Parkster claims an exception for undue burden in accordance with Section 3(5) BITV 2.0 in conjunction with Section 12 BGG, for the following functions:
The primary target group of the Parkster app consists of individuals who are functionally capable of operating a motor vehicle. The following features are currently not implemented and are considered to impose a disproportionate burden, as they are unlikely to provide meaningful benefit for the app’s main user base:
-
Navigation via assistive technologies such as external keyboards or screen readers.
-
Support for landscape (horizontal) screen orientation.
Content not covered by the legislation
The following content is not fully accessible but is exempt under Section 1(2) BITV 2.0, which refers to content not created by the organization or not under its control:
-
The interactive map that shows available parking spaces.
-
Third-party payment method integrations.
How we tested the app
The app was externally reviewed by Ambition Group.
The most recent review was conducted in November 2024.
The evaluation method included both manual testing and testing with an external keyboard and screen reader on mobile devices.
We also perform regular internal accessibility checks using a combination of automated tools and manual inspection.
