Technical information about the app’s accessibility

This app is partially compliant with the requirements of the WZG, due to the issues described below.

Non-accessible content

Not compliant with legal requirements:

  • Some texts in the iOS version do not support dynamic text resizing.

  • Some images lack alternative text.

  • In some places, the contrast between text and background or between graphical components is insufficient.

  • Selecting a vehicle icon and vehicle color requires a complex swipe gesture.

  • Information entered by parking operators is not supported in multiple languages.

We are continuously working to improve the accessibility of the app and welcome feedback on what you think should be prioritized. Please write to us at: kundendienst@parkster.com

Disproportionate burden

Parkster invokes an exception under § 2 (3) WZG due to disproportionate burden in relation to the following functions:

The target group of the app consists of people who have sufficient functional abilities to drive a car. The following navigation features are currently not available in the app and are considered disproportionately difficult to implement, as they would likely not provide essential benefits to the target group:

  • navigation using assistive technologies such as external keyboards or screen readers

  • support for use in landscape mode

Content not covered by legal requirements

The following content is not fully accessible but falls outside the scope of the WZG in accordance with § 1 (2):

  • the map displaying available parking spaces

  • third-party content related to payment methods

How we tested the app

The app was externally reviewed by the Ambition Group.
The most recent review took place in November 2024.
The testing methodology included manual testing as well as tests with an external keyboard and screen reader on mobile devices.

We also conduct regular internal reviews – both automated and manual.
